Akwa Ibom express displeasure at actress, Ini Edo ’s performance as Tourism SA
In February 2016, Nollywood actress, Ini Edo joined the list of Nollywood actresses like Kate Henshaw, Nkiru Sylvanus, Mercy Johnson Okogie, and others to hold political positions as Special Advisers in their respective states.

Ini, as she fondly called by close friends and colleagues was appointed the Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture in Akwa Ibom state by the executive governor, Emmanuel Udom.

However, it is over a year now and nothing seems to be happening in the office of the divorced movie star.

There are reasons to worry as Akwa Ibom State blessed abundantly with lots of tourism potentials is just lying fallow without any form of awareness to promote its cultural assets.

Governor Udom Emmanuel doles out cash to residents after ‘historic’ anti-govt protest

Surprise, excitement, and expectation reigned over the Akpan Andem Market in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Tuesday as Governor Udom Emmanuel paid an unscheduled visit to the market. A governor or even ranking state official hardly visits any market in the state except during political campaigns. Mr. Emmanuel’s visit was in the afternoon, at the peak of activities in the market. He was accompanied by security officials and some aides, including his Special Assistant on Youth Matters, Aniefiok Iwadudofia. Mr. Emmanuel, wearing a yellow caftan and a black hat, walked through the muddy pathway inside the market. Some excited traders ran after him, shouting “Udom is right” – a popular slogan used by the governor during the 2015 governorship campaign.
