Akwa Ibom Council Chairman runs Amok - Beats up brother’s wife
The Transition Committee Chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom Statet, Mr. David Umana has allegedly gone amok and is under fire over his assault of his brother’s wife, Mrs. Ime Udom over land.

THE INK gathered that the Chairman colluded with a man whose identity could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report to use the land for their private purpose without the knowledge of Mrs. Ime who it is learnt is the rightful owner of the land.

On getting wind of their plot, the woman reportedly confronted the Chairman on the matter, but she was disappointed as she got the beatings of her life from the Chairman.

  On learning of what had befallen their mother and how the Chairman subjected her to dehumanising conditions, the widow’s children reportedly stormed the Chairman’s residence and retaliated. 

They are said to have beaten the Chairman to a pulp in retaliation for what he did to their mother.

Governor Udom Emmanuel doles out cash to residents after ‘historic’ anti-govt protest

Surprise, excitement, and expectation reigned over the Akpan Andem Market in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Tuesday as Governor Udom Emmanuel paid an unscheduled visit to the market. A governor or even ranking state official hardly visits any market in the state except during political campaigns. Mr. Emmanuel’s visit was in the afternoon, at the peak of activities in the market.
